About Diego

I have been tutoring secondary school students for five years and have lots of experience adapting to different learning styles, for students ranging from Junior Cert to Leaving Cert. I achieved 625 points in the Leaving Cert 2019 exams, including a 95% in the honours maths paper. I graduated with a 1:1 honours in Mathematical Science at the University of Galway and I am currently studying a Master's Degree in Data Science at the University of Padua, in Italy.

About the lesson

Lessons are held online via Google Meets. I do my lessons through a tablet so that the student can see the workings of problems, like a digital whiteboard setup. The student will also get any work done on the whiteboard as a PDF after the lesson. My typical lesson is exam-focused problem solving in a certain topic. I will walk the student through the problem, not doing it for them, but showing them the way, and giving them hints to proceed so that they can build a logical thought process to approach any problem of the topic. In a few words, I help students teach themselves the best way to solve a problem, while being there to hint at methods, explain new concepts, or answer any questions they may have about the problem or the theory of the topic. When relevant, I will also teach theory around a topic before proceeding with problem solving.
