About Sonali

As both a committed high school student and an experienced tutor, I’ve seen firsthand how academic challenges can wear down even the most motivated learners. That’s why I’ve dedicated myself to tutoring—not just to help with coursework, but to empower students who haven’t yet unlocked the strength and abilities they already possess. With a solid understanding of today’s academic pressures and a genuine passion for helping others succeed, I bring patience, empathy, and structure to every tutoring session. About the lesson

I’ve been tutoring since the early stages of the pandemic, specializing in English, Math, and Piano. Over the years, my students—ranging from grades 4 to 11—have experienced measurable progress, with a grade improvement of 17% or more. My teaching is highly personalized: I invest time in understanding each student’s unique learning style and pace, and I adapt my lessons accordingly to maximize comprehension and retention. My expertise lies in IB-level mathematics, but I’m equally comfortable working with de-streamed students across multiple grade levels. Each lesson is thoughtfully structured to balance concept exploration, guided practice, and reflection. I also create custom resources—like formula sheets, mnemonic devices, and structured review guides—to reinforce learning and provide students with helpful tools beyond our sessions. What sets me apart is the collaborative nature of my teaching. I actively seek and incorporate student feedback to gauge their understanding, reassess our goals, and refine future lessons. This allows us to set realistic learning milestones and work toward them in a focused, supportive environment. My aim is not just to boost grades, but to build lasting confidence and enthusiasm for learning.

After finding her classes, I've never felt more confident in my math skills and I ended the year with a 95%. She takes a very hands on approach and easily explained topics in a simple and concise manner.
