About Lindsey
I am a student at Columbia University, recently graduated from Miami Palmetto Senior High School. I have worked for three years at Mathnasium, instructing students in topics ranging from simple arithmetic to pre-calculus. Through both one on one and group instruction, I identified their areas of greatest struggle and focused on building or re-building the foundations of math that underlie the concepts where they struggled. The students I taught have consistently obtained higher grades in math due to their understanding of the foundations of mathematics.

I have experience giving lessons to students ranging from kindergarten to high school. I am a strong believer that a strong foundation is required in order to advance understanding of mathematics. If a student is struggling in a concept, it is important to me to find the most basic relevant concept that they don't understand and begin rebuilding their knowledge from there. It is not enough to simply memorize formulas and theorems - I teach my students to understand why said formulas and theorems are true.
