About Parvathy
I am a technical consultant by day and have a passion for teaching on the side! I graduated with my Bachelors in Software Engineering from San Jose State, and I love connecting with today's youth through tutoring, dance classes, etc. Growing up, my family ran a tutoring business. As a part of that, I have been tutoring younger kids in so many subjects. I have also tutored kids privately for AP tests such as Calculus, Stats, Computer Science. I would say though that math and computer science are my strongest pursuits :)
I want to make learning math fun as opposed to tedious and boring. I love having students who are hungry to learn. It truly makes me happy when I see a student learn and progress to a new level of mastery. I believe that mastering the fundamentals first makes math easier, so I would love to focus on that first so you have the long-term benefit and won't need a tutor in the future :)

I believe in connecting math/computer science to the real world, as it creates a connection and makes a topic make more sense. As I teach all ages (elementary-high school), I want to make sure that if you are struggling in school, I can provide you a 1-1 or semi-private learning experience where you are open to ask any questions, walk through step-by-step with math problems, and eventually master thinking through math problems on your own.
I have tutored students since I myself was in sixth grade. As someone who has participated in national math competitions growing up, I believe it is important to master the fundamentals. I will work with you to make sure you have a strong base, then it's only growth from there.
I am open to tutoring all school ages (elementary-high school). I can also tutor in statistics, AP Calculus (AB/BC), and AP Computer Science.
