About Nissrine

I'm a graduate student currently completing a master's degree in Artificial Intelligence and Optimal Decision Systems, after a bachelor's in Intelligent Systems and Operational Research and a diploma in computer science. Mathematics has been the backbone of my studies for years, not a subject I picked up separately, so when I teach it, I'm drawing on training I use every day, not just a textbook.

I've spent over a year tutoring students through established Canadian tutoring centers, working in both French and English depending on what each student needs, and I've recently taken on a second center as well. That experience has taught me how different students actually learn: some need more repetition, some need the logic explained before the steps, some just need someone patient enough to let them get it wrong a few times first. I try to meet each student where they are rather than teaching to an average.

I take tutoring seriously as a responsibility, not a side gig students and parents can expect someone reliable, well-prepared, and genuinely invested in their progress.

About the lesson

Math often feels intimidating because students are taught what to do without understanding why it works, so I build every lesson around that "why" first. I start each new student with a short diagnostic to see exactly where the gaps are, then build a personalized plan instead of following a generic curriculum. A typical session mixes a quick review of the previous concept, guided practice on the new one with real examples, and a short recap so nothing gets forgotten by next week.

I currently tutor elementary and middle school students following the Canadian curriculum, in both French and English, and I'm comfortable switching between the two mid-lesson if that's what helps a student best. My own background is in mathematics and computer science through to a master's level in AI and optimization, so beyond just teaching the material, I'm genuinely comfortable with it which means I can explain the same concept two or three different ways until one clicks. Patience, structure, and making sure a student never leaves a session more confused than they started are what I care about most.
