About Yulia
Welcome to my tutoring business! My name is Yulia Sorokina, and I have been tutoring for 10 years. With a background in Middle School Math from the University of Chicago and a Master's degree from UIC in Special Education, I have a strong foundation in both subject matter and instructional design.
My passion lies in finding a unique approach to individualized learning that works best for each of my students. Over the years, I have worked in public and private schools, as well as in a blended learning setting. I believe that engaging kids through logic puzzles, creativity, and thinking outside the typical math problem can help them develop a deeper understanding of the concepts and lead to more meaningful learning experiences.
My main focus is on filling knowledge gaps, ensuring growth, and creating a love for lifelong learning. I strongly believe that every child has the potential to excel in math, and my role as a tutor is to help them discover and reach that potential. With a strong foundation in math concepts and a supportive, encouraging approach, I help my students overcome any obstacles they may encounter and achieve success.
I am dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing learning environment for my students, where they feel comfortable to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow.
