About Karis

Hello!
My name is Karis, and I have been a Math-focused tutor for over 6 years. My first degree was in Mechanical Engineering and my next was in Data Science so I not only enjoy Math but I enjoy teaching the subject and seeing the delight on a student's face when a concept clicks. I look forward to teaching and helping you!

About the lesson

I work by breaking down concepts step-by-step, and work through questions with my learners to ensure they can do the questions themselves whether in an exam or during self-study.

I offer help with assignments, classwork and exam preparation all with the goal of complete understanding.

For high schoolers, I understand the need for intrinsic motivation, so before I begin a session, my student and I will agree on a goal and we work forward to achieving it.

With adult learners, I am especially flexible as I understand the commitments that go beyond the grades or certification being sought.

I'm excited to teach you and I hope we can achieve your goals together!

Karis is great at explaining. She goes step by step for each problem I don't understand. She always shows up on time and she always makes sure I'm on top of my priorities. One day I was really struggling with a math test, even though she only teaches me SAT she offered to help. On that day she was not feeling well, however, she still showed up and taught me everything I needed to know. My score has increased over 100 points on my SAT. She's sweet and knows exactly what she's teaching.
