About Daniel
I am an experienced Math educator with an MSc in Math and an IB Diploma Examiner for Math A&A HL. Over the past 20+ years, I have taught in international schools across Africa, Asia, and Europe, working with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
I am passionate about making mathematics accessible and meaningful. My experience as an examiner gives me deep insight into what success looks like, whether in IB assessments, school exams, or beyond.
Beyond the subject knowledge, I believe in building confidence. I meet each student where they are, identify their strengths, and help them develop a growth mindset.

My lessons are designed for middle school, high school, and accelerated learners (working above grade level), students preparing for top university entrance exams like Cambridge TMUA, Oxford MAT, and SAT Subject Tests, as well as college students who need Math or Statistics support.
I use an inquiry-based approach: instead of memorizing formulas, students make connections by themselves, which deepens understanding and builds critical thinking skills that last beyond exams.
A typical lesson starts with a starter activity, then moves into guided exploration of ideas using visual tools and structured questions. This is then consolidated with practice exercises and feedback.
For EAL and international students, I simplify language without lowering the cognitive bar - clear explanations and visual aids ensure all learners access the same high-level content.
