About Totes
I have been teaching and tutoring students at all levels for over 20 years and have been a licensed teacher for 14. I worked with Middle School, High School, and University students both in person and online. I think that my most valuable skill is the ability to break down difficult concepts into everyday ideas through the use of metaphor and examples. An important thing that I try to remind my students of is that if you can walk and talk your brain is already doing complex math we just have to help you learn to talk about it. The purpose of the math class is to take what you already know and can do and give you the tools to share it with other people and understand what they are sharing with you. It is like teaching someone who can sing or play an instrument how to write sheet music.

Experienced Teacher and tutor. I have been a licensed math and physics teacher for 14 years and have been teaching and tutoring online for the past 4. I am based in the United States but have worked with students in Brazil and The Netherlands. I have designed and run courses to help students learn the math required for the SAT, the ACT, and the ASVAB as well as assisted University students with English for classroom teaching.
