About Marina

I am passionate about math and helping others achieve understanding and success in this fascinating--yet often intimidating--subject. For the last several years, I have been a peer tutor for TRiO Student Support Services and in the Math and Statistics Center at OSU, as well as a private tutor for middle school, high school, and OSU students.

I have been told by my students and my employers that I am an exceptional instructor, with specific compliments awarded to my patience, approach to tutoring, and commitment to my students. I seek to understand each of my students' unique needs and abilities, and I adapt my teaching methods to best accomodate individual learning styles and preferences.

About the lesson

I offer tutoring in any middle or high school math class, as well as any lower-division college math course. I am also able to tutor in many upper-division courses, but not all, so please reach out if you have a specific 300/400 level course in mind.

- Adapts tutoring techniques to suit student's learning style
- Offers hints, explanations, and pointers to enable student to find answers themselves
- Friendly and encouraging personality
- Patient and willing to work as fast or as slow as student needs

If possible, I would like to have sessions in person, as I feel mathematics is best learned with paper and pencil and interactive guidance. In the Corvallis area, I am able to meet in public locations near Monroe Avenue or on the OSU campus (such as Bobahead, the public city library, OSU's Valley Library, etc.). Please let me know your preference when reaching out for lessons. :)

LATE FEE: If a student arrives late to a scheduled lesson without providing at least 1 hr advance notice, they will be charged for the full session, including the time they missed.
If a student has not notified me they will be late and does not show within 15 min from the lesson start time, they will be considered a no show.

NO SHOW FEE: If a student does not arrive to a scheduled lesson without providing at least 1 hr advance notice, they will be charged for the entirety of the scheduled time.
