About Fatma
I have been an educator for over 15 years, teaching both Mathematics and Computer Science.
I hold a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from Harvard University and have extensive experience teaching students at different levels and with different learning styles.
You’re in the right place if you need help with Math, AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles, Java, Python, or beginner friendly programming languages such as Scratch or GameMaker!

My teaching approach is student-centered, supportive, and personalized. Every student learns differently. My goal is to help students understand the “why” behind what they are learning and develop the confidence to solve problems independently.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material and a discussion of the student’s goals or any challenges they are currently facing. We then introduce or clarify the main concept, work through examples together, and give the student opportunities to practice with my guidance. I gradually step back as the student becomes more comfortable, encouraging them to explain their thinking and solve problems independently.
For programming, I focus on both concepts and hands-on practice. Students will write, read, debug, and improve code (refactoring!), sometimes only on paper, sometimes on computer!
For Math and AP Computer Science, I can also help with homework, test preparation, AP exam preparation, foundational skills, and challenging concepts.
I believe that building confidence and problem-solving skills can have an impact far beyond a single class or exam. Lessons can be adapted to the student's level, pace, and specific goals. Whether you need ongoing support or help with a particular topic, we can create a learning plan that works for you.
I can travel to you (within reasonable distance), tutor in my place, or just meet online!
