About Ilara
I am currently a postgraduate student at the University of the Witwatersrand where I have completed my honours and masters degrees in pharmacology. I completed my BSc Human physiology, genetics and psychology undergrad at the University of Pretoria during which time I was enrolled in modules such as medical terminology, botany, zoology, microbiology, biochemistry and many others.
Along the way I have learnt that everyone is a visual learner to some extent. I take inspiration from the educators Ninja Nerds and Armando Hasudungan's teaching style.
I have prior teaching experience in tutoring 3rd and 4th year BPharm (pharmacy) students, BHSc (bachelor of health science) students as well as grade 4-5 primary school students.

I use minimal text in my lessons by focusing on visual elements such as drawings and diagrams which are especially useful for biology learning. Furthermore, I help students make mnemonics and assist in memory aids perfect for exams.
I work in one of two ways: specified question sessions or "re-lectures" in which I re-teach you the chapter. Simply message me what chapter you would like to discuss and I'll prepare accordingly.
Students from 4th grade up to University level are welcome, whether English or Afrikaans.
