About François
I was born in Dijon (you probably know it for its mustard) and I grew up in France and abroad. After a general Baccalauréat, I studied two years in French literature, History, Geography, and Cinema (it's also when I started to speak English seriously) before moving to Edinburgh to do a master's in Architectural History.
I'm the eldest of five, so I always helped to tutor my siblings, until realizing I could get paid for it, and so did I.
Traveling made me realize how I liked my culture, and how I wanted to share it. That's why while teaching french as a language I think it's important to add cultural contextualization (and it's more fun)!

I like to be flexible and focus on whatever aspect you are struggling with. Even if I like to keep some balance, I tend to emphasize conversation by creating a safe environment where you can be confident. I also work with cultural material as it makes lessons more lively. I tend to avoid lessons longer than 2 hours as it tends to be less efficient.
I have experience tutoring children (as well as babysitting), I'm a native speaker and I studied French literature before coming to Edinburgh.
I'm open to students of any level, either if you're starting from scratch or are fluent and want to practice and get to know more.
