About Karim
My name's Karim, I'm a 21-year-old MA International Journalism at City St George's, University of London. I have a degree in International Politics alongside a background in Geography and History. I have 2 years' experience in mentoring students, so I think I'm pretty good at it. When it comes to teaching I think it's about making sure you're learning but also enjoying it.

Lessons can last anywhere from 1-3 hours, depending on preference. I believe in creating an environment where the student enjoys learning and I believe the way students should learn should be centred around things they enjoy. I've mentored students from years 7-11 (Secondary school years) while I was doing my A Levels and I've also worked with kids of all ages through volunteering at my local community centre and being an assistant instructor during Taekwondo lessons.
A lot of the time students may feel like they aren't being treated correctly learning at school and (at least for the older teen students) I would treat them with the level of respect as if they were adults. Teaching is about teamwork and working in tandem with the pupil and that's what I strive to do
