About Ellie
Since beginning my studies at the University of Bristol, my interest in the languages has only grown. I am a competent speaker of Spanish and Portuguese and have lived in both Spain (Salamanca) and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro).
My teaching style spans conversation and grammar, and I like to use relevant and current teaching materials such as news, music and film to supplement any course materials you already have (such as school curriculum).
Having studied a Masters in Caribbean and Latin American Studies, I am very knowledgeable about the Hispanic world, and believe that a cultural education is just as important as the language itself.
I like to make the lessons fun and varied and tailor the course to level, requirements and interests. With me, you will learn a variety of linguistic skills from using formal language to understanding the slang in pop music.

Ellie always brings great energy to our lessons! She picks subjects whcih get me talking and has an easy demeanour so it never feels awakward to ask a question.
Her lessons are well planned but flexible so we can work for longer on the parts I didn't understand the first time.
