With over 23 years of classroom experience teaching grades K–6 and a Master’s degree in Exceptional Student Education, I bring both expertise and heart to every tutoring session. I am certified in Gifted Education, Reading, and ESOL, and I specialize in helping students build confidence and achieve lasting academic growth. I meet each learner exactly where they are and design engaging lessons that target their specific needs. Whether working on foundational reading skills, mastering math concepts, or improving focus and organization, I use a variety of evidence-based strategies to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades but also develop the confidence and independence to thrive in school and beyond. My Tutoring Approach:

As a tutor with over 23 years of K–6 classroom experience and a Master’s degree in Exceptional Student Education, I take a personalized, student-centered approach to every lesson. My goal is to meet each learner exactly where they are and help them grow with targeted, engaging instruction.

Teaching Methods & Techniques:

I use research-based strategies tailored to each student's learning style, strengths, and needs. This includes explicit instruction, scaffolded support, multi-sensory learning and ongoing formative assessment. I believe in building a strong foundation through positive reinforcement, clear goals, and celebrating small wins to build confidence and motivation.

Each session includes:

1. **Warm-up/review** of prior skills
2. **Introduction of new concepts** with modeling
3. **Guided practice** with support
4. **Independent practice**
5. **Assessment/check for understanding**
6. **Wrap-up** with feedback and next steps

Lessons are data-driven and flexible adjusting to the pace and progress of the student. I often incorporate games, visuals, and real-world applications to keep learning meaningful and fun.

Qualifications:

Certified in Reading, Math (K–6), ESOL, Gifted, and ESE
Experience as both a classroom teacher and instructional coach
Skilled at working with diverse learners, including struggling readers, gifted students, English language learners, and those with learning differences
Proven ability to design individualized learning plans that yield measurable results
