About Becka

I have been teaching voice lessons for 5 years independently and have worked with students aged 5-65 of a variety of experience levels, gender identities, and musical interests. I have also taught in a classroom setting at Temple University for 5 years.

About the lesson

My voice lessons are entirely customized to the student. Because of my classical music background, I have a deep understanding of vocal technique and am able to hear areas for technical improvement as my student sings and suggest exercises and explain fixes. Some students work on technique for the whole lesson while others bring in selections they would like to sing. I love to work with singers on pop music for karaoke or other performances, original music they have written themselves, or classical or musical theater for auditions or performance. I am extremely flexible and offer lessons at all times of day in person or via Zoom.

Becka has been the voice teacher for my daughter for many tears, starting as beginner in middle school and currently helping her prepare for college auditions. She has instructed her in many genres - pop, rock, classical and Broadway songs.
Becka is well trained with a Masters in Vocal Performance but also has the skills that helped my daughter develop confidence and a stage presence. She is smart enough to know that sometimes a girl doesn’t want to work on technique and just wants to sing pop songs for the lesson. This is why my daughter loves Becka and stays engaged over the years
Becka is organized and reliable. She offers both in person and online options, we have used both.
