About Serenity
Having guided 218 students through their musical journey, I have seen every struggle a beginner or intermediate player might face. It feels like yesterday that I started my own path as a singer-guitarist, and holding a Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium only deepened that perspective. My teaching style is informed by 8 years of gigging in acoustic sets and small venues. I enjoy working with adults and performance-focused individuals who want to bridge the gap between playing songs and understanding the fretboard.
Whether we are discussing electric technique or simple fingerpicking, I bring that same songwriter-minded energy to the room. It is a real joy to watch someone finally grasp a difficult solo or master a tricky chord change. Hopefully, I can help you find that same excitement as we prepare your first Splendour in the Grass application.

Nothing beats the feeling of playing a song perfectly, so I focus on making the technical side of the guitar feel intuitive and fun for you. Whether you are an absolute beginner reading your first tabs or an intermediate learner diving into improvisation and lead guitar, we work at a pace that keeps you engaged. I have spent 6 years refining how I explain blues progressions and sheet music so that the theory actually makes sense on the neck. I make sure to provide free chord charts and tab sheets after each class so you can keep practicing long after the session ends.
Performance-focused students appreciate the way I emphasize tone and feel over just memorizing shapes. It is important to me that you walk away feeling like you have a clear plan for your next practice session. I look forward to hearing what kind of music you want to create next.
