About Somi
With 10 years of teaching piano, I have had the pleasure of working with students from diverse backgrounds, ranging from beginners to advanced learners and from school children to professionals. My teaching philosophy emphasises patience, encouragement, and a creative approach to learning, allowing students to develop technical skills, musical understanding, and artistic expression at their own pace.
I have guided students through recitals, competitions, and graded exams, helping them achieve personal milestones and gain confidence in their abilities. Lessons include technique, sight-reading, music theory, improvisation, and performance skills, all tailored to the student’s level and interests. I strive to make every lesson engaging, meaningful, and inspiring.

I communicate clearly, giving step-by-step instructions and helpful feedback to guide students effectively. Supportiveness is at the heart of my approach—I patiently help students overcome challenges and celebrate progress to maintain motivation.
This method also applies to other subjects I teach, such as music theory and beginner composition. My aim is to create a welcoming and encouraging learning space where students gain both skill and confidence.
