About Amy
My teaching methodology centers on creating a positive and encouraging environment, where students feel comfortable exploring their musical abilities. With 8 years of experience teaching piano to students of all levels, I approach each lesson with patience and adaptability, ensuring that every student progresses at their own pace while remaining challenged and engaged.
I believe in balancing technical proficiency with creativity. Lessons are designed to cover the core elements of piano playing, including sight-reading, scales, and technique, while incorporating ear training, improvisation, and music theory to build a well-rounded musical foundation. My approach is highly personalized, focusing on the individual needs and goals of each student, whether they’re preparing for exams, performances, or simply learning for personal enjoyment.
Problem-solving is also a key part of my teaching style. I help students overcome challenges by breaking down difficult concepts and finding creative solutions to learning barriers. My ultimate goal is to foster a love for music, inspire confidence, and help students develop both their technical skills and artistic expression in a fun and supportive way. I also teach music theory and composition, providing a comprehensive learning experience for all.
