About Chris
Welcome to my page relating to all things Approach to Learning, Life Lessons, Coaching and Tutoring!
I'm a master student development coach who amalgamates practical tools of mindset consequencing in confidence, skills, attributes, creativity, organisation and motivation. My approach to my students is devoted within routine, boundaries, habits and hyper focused on wellbeing.
I have completed my Masters of Teaching at Melbourne University and by no means took your typical route there; the personification of hard work, resilience and persistence. I know exactly what it is like to be where my students are. Moreover, I am an experienced primary school teacher of over seven years, and also have served the community in countless ways; having taught from kindergarten all the way through to mature aged students. Places ranging from mainstream schools, specialist schools, behavioural schools and even The Royal Children's Hospital. I am also currently undertaking my Diploma of Counselling at The Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors.
My true passion is coaching students and helping them navigate their social and emotional world, which, as we know, opens up their world to academic success and success on a widespread scale! I have seen first-hand; the affect and effect social and emotional intelligence and learning has on children. Please find below some of my student’s reflections throughout the years:
“My highlight was when I was told I had Chris as my teacher because all his old students have said such amazing things about him!”
“Chris has helped me with everything but if I’m being specific, he helped me so much with my mental health and he always listened and made me feel accepted.”
Chris invests himself in all his students, he has showed me the standard of work I can achieve when I give everything I’ve got”
“The teacher that helped me a lot was Chris. He has worked very hard on me even though I can be silly at times, and the thing that’s most important is how Chris will never give up and still does anything he can to make me do well.”
“Chris has helped me a lot: he taught me a lot about very important life lessons you need to know and with work he is always there to help you and make you better and achieve your goals. He is just doing it for you to get better, not for him.”
I help everyday students, children, adolescents and young adults solve problems, tackle issues, build self-esteem and self-efficacy. I do this all with an intricate, nuanced and extensive understanding of Generation Z.
Employers go crazy over what you can bring to the table. This is where the traditional education system can’t always keep up, and I have seen this first hand.

Want vs Won’t:
Every single person has the ability to harness their best, absolutely everyone. This is my philosophy and belief. When there is the want, there is no won’t. My services bring out an untamed hunger for happiness, success and motivation encompassing all of the above, so please feel free to jump into the world of want and allow me to help on this journey we call life!

Chris is a fantastic person with incredible talent to be a teacher. He has an interesting personality, can tell you many things, and gives advice as he has had many experiences. Chris was my teacher in my last year of Primary school and helped me through a tough time in my life. He taught me coping strategies and how to react to problems that sprang up in my life. Chris is an incredible person and I strongly recommend him if you have any personal issues in life.
Chris is an incredibly kind and caring tutor. I am a student of Chris’ and during our time together, I feel comfortable and safe and am able to share my thoughts and feelings. I know that every time I need to ask him for advice or guidance, he is happy to talk to me and makes me feel more confident in my decisions and in myself. I am very lucky to have Chris in my life.
Chris is a regular CRT at the Primary School that I work in and he is definitely one to remember. Usually, the role of a CRT is to come in, complete the lessons that are planned and leave as soon as the bell rings. However, this is not Chris. When Chris walks into our school, he is dedicated, motivating, caring and passionate. He genuinely cares about all of our students and their wellbeing, and will go out of his way to help them academically, socially and/or physically. Students are genuinely excited when they see Chris at school and openly share that he is their favourite teacher! They respect him, they listen to him, they find his stories interesting and inspiring and they appreciate him. Chris' caring and encouraging manner creates a classroom environment that is engaging and brings out the best in all of our students.
Not only has Chris made a positive impact on our students, but he has also made connections and bonds with parents. This was demonstrated during our schools Grade 6 graduation at the end of 2022, where parents approached him to thank him for his contributions and asked him for photos. I can guarentee you that no other CRT would go to a schools Grade 6 graduation and meet parents and guardians.
Chris has also made great friendships with our staff. He is entertaining, energetic, humble and intelligent. You will always have a smile on your face when you are having a conversation with Chris.
Overall, I have met many CRTs during my time as a Primary School teacher and I have never met anyone as caring, determined and dedicated as him. He goes above and beyond during his lessons (and during recess and lunch) to ensure every student feels heard, safe and welcomed.I can highly recommend Chris as an innovative and incredibly caring teacher who strives to educate the whole child, that is academically, socially and above all emotionally. As an Assistant Principal at Kew Primary School I initially hired Chris as a CRT( Casual Relief Teacher) and I soon became aware of his talents and the ease with which he connected to the students, no matter what their age range and also how well he communicated with my staff, sharing ideas and generally putting in that extra effort to support the students and his fellow teachers. I was totally impressed with Chris' emotional intelligence and the care he showed for our special needs students, their needs ranging from autism, severe behavioural issues, spina bifida as well as students dealing with family traumas.
Chris went on to apply for an advertised position at Kew PS and he got the job because he was the standout candidate.
He taught in the Senior School mostly and he quickly changed the culture in that area from one of indifference to learning by the students to them setting their own learning goals, working hard to achieve and surpass these goals, then going further by increasing their expectations of what each one could achieve. The Senior School became a "can do" setting where all students were engaged, wanted to learn and wanted to support each other in that learning.
Chris was pivotal in this change of culture and he gained the respect, not only of his students, their parents, all staff members including the Leadership Team but the wider school community.
Parents would lobby to have Chris teach their children when they entered their senior years such was his reputation as an effective and caring teacher who only wanted the best for his students.
Having achieved these results in my school I highly recommend Chris for your organisation because he puts his heart and soul into his teaching, always focussing on the learning needs of each of his students, this is underpinned by his nurturing of their social and emotional wellbeing. He is one fabulous teacher!View more recommendations
