About Lavanya

Hi! I’m a recent Class 12 graduate, school topper and I have a strong interest in Psychology, Political Science, and English. I am currently preparing to pursue my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and I’m excited to use this time to share my knowledge and help other students succeed academically.

Over the past year, I have enjoyed helping friends, classmates, and younger family members with their studies. Although my teaching experience has been informal, it has taught me how to explain difficult concepts patiently, adapt to different learning styles, and make students feel comfortable asking questions. I have also completed an internship in Psychology, which gave me valuable exposure to the subject beyond the classroom.

I genuinely believe that good teaching is not just about completing a syllabus, it is about helping students understand, think independently, and gain confidence in what they are learning. I particularly enjoy breaking down complicated topics into simple, relatable ideas and connecting them to real-life examples.

As someone who has recently been through Class 11 and 12 myself, I understand the pressure of examinations, the importance of effective revision, and the difference that clear guidance can make. My goal is to create a friendly, supportive, and focused learning environment where students feel comfortable learning at their own pace while staying motivated and consistent.

I look forward to helping students not only improve their marks, but also develop a genuine understanding and interest in their subjects.

About the lesson

My classes are designed for school students, particularly those in Classes 11 and 12 studying Psychology, Political Science, and English, with English support also available for students in Classes 9 and 10.

As a teacher, I focus on understanding concepts rather than relying on rote memorisation. I believe students learn best when they understand the “why” behind a topic, so I explain concepts in simple language, use relatable real-life examples, and encourage students to ask questions and participate actively.

Each class is structured around the student’s individual needs. We typically begin with a quick recap of previously covered topics, followed by an explanation of new concepts, interactive discussion and examples, and finally practice questions or exam-oriented application. I also place importance on revision, answer-writing skills, and helping students understand how to structure their responses effectively for examinations.

My approach is patient, friendly, and personalised. Since I have recently completed Class 12 with a score of 98.8%, I understand the academic expectations and challenges students face and can relate to them from a recent student’s perspective. I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and are encouraged to learn at their own pace.

My classes are particularly suited to students who want stronger conceptual understanding, consistent academic support, better exam preparation, and a teacher who can make subjects like Psychology, Political Science, and English more engaging and approachable.
