About Freddie
I am a Senior Java Developer with nearly a decade of professional experience writing code for large-scale, high-traffic websites.
I know firsthand how frustrating learning to programme can be. When you are just starting out, Java can feel like a totally alien language, and staring at a screen full of red errors can be incredibly overwhelming. That is exactly why I started tutoring.
Throughout my career, I have built the "behind-the-scenes" logic that keeps massive websites running smoothly and securely, the silent hero which few notice. But my true passion is breaking down complex technical concepts into simple, easy-to-understand pieces. This is the core of software development in any language, whether you use Java, like I do, C++, C#, or even JavaScript.
Software development breaks away from the mundane, average wash-rinse-repeat 9-5 careers. Every project you work on is a new challenge, and the odds of you ever doing the same thing twice are slim to none.
Whether you are a university student struggling to pass your programming modules, a bootcamp grad preparing for your first tech interview, or a complete beginner who just wants to build their first app, I am here to help you get unstuck.
I don't just teach from a textbook; I teach you how to write clean, professional code the way it is actually done in the real tech industry.

My teaching style is highly visual, deeply practical, and 100% tailored to your pace. I personally learn best from actually doing the thing myself, and I want to bring that methodology across.
Here is what you can expect from our sessions:
1. We write code together: We will use screen sharing and interactive tools so we can look at the same code at the same time. I will show you how to build something, and then I will watch and guide you as you try it yourself.
2. We focus on "The Why": I don't want you to just memorise syntax. I will teach you how to think like a software engineer so you can break big problems down into small, logical steps.
3. The Art of Debugging: One of the most important skills I will teach you is how to find and fix your own errors. Once you know how to read an error message properly, coding becomes much less frustrating.
4. Coursework & Assignment Support (With an Ethical Boundary): If you are struggling with a university or bootcamp assignment, we will use it as a learning tool. We will break down the problem, discuss the data structures or algorithms needed, and guide your logic. Please note: I will never write your code or complete assignments for you. My job is to give you the skills and confidence to write the code yourself so you can actually pass your exams and land a job.
