About Francesco
I am a nanotechnologist, which is a catchy name to refer to an engineer who deals with the properties of materials at the nanoscale and their applications.
I carried out my university studies (bachelor and master) at the Politecnico di Torino in exactly 5 years, in courses exclusively in English.
My thesis work was undertaken in a Columbia University research laboratory and deals with microfluidics applied to point-of-care (POC) diagnosis of Lyme disease.
I have two diplomas: the first, obtained in the USA after a year of high school there; the second, the Italian scientific high school diploma.

My teaching method is extremely practical for three reasons:
1) as an engineer, I always look for the answer in applications, rather than in theory
2) I have personally experienced that practice allows a metabolization of the subject, ensuring learning that remains
3) in tests or examinations, people mainly fall on exercises, also because the theory can be stuffed inside your brain easily for one or two days.
My lessons are therefore composed of a short (5-10 minutes) part of theory to have a general overview of the topic, followed by exercises where the theory is then naturally corroborated.
I have teaching experience both with high school students for whom I have given private lessons and with university students, as I worked as a teaching assistant for three semesters at the Polytechnic of Turin for first-year courses in C Language coding.
