About Eleanor
As a French tutor with 3 years of experience, I have taught 150 to 200 students from diverse backgrounds and proficiency levels. My tutoring style is rooted in personalized learning and adaptability, ensuring that each student receives the attention and resources they need to thrive. I firmly believe that language learning should be both effective and enjoyable, which is why I design lessons that are engaging, practical, and culturally rich. I focus on building strong foundational skills in grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation while encouraging conversational practice to improve fluency. Using real-life scenarios and authentic materials, I help students connect classroom learning with real-world communication. Cultural immersion is essential in my teaching philosophy, so I introduce students to francophone history, traditions, and contemporary life through authentic materials like film excerpts, songs, and news stories, helping them appreciate the vibrant diversity of the French-speaking world. A memorable highlight was supporting a college student who struggled with grammar until I provided simple, relatable explanations paired with creative exercises that eventually led to passing a high-stakes language exam and opening doors to international study.
