About Lauren
Hello, my name is Lauren Miller and I am currently working toward my Master of Environmental Science degree focusing on 'Biophysical interactions of terrestrial and aquatic systems'. Throughout my undergraduate degree (Honours bachelor of science) I've developed a strong background in all of genetics, cell, molecular, and microbiology in addition to geology and geomechanics.
Participation in organization like 'Lets Talk Science' and 'Project START! Science' have given me invaluable teaching experience and have proven my ability to effectively communicate scientific concepts in a way that make learning fun and concepts easy to digest for students ranging from elementary to high school levels.

My teaching approach looks to first break each concept down into smaller parts to build a solid understanding before moving forward. Specific steps taken will depend on the learning style and needs of each individual student. That said, the constants of my lesson plans include an open dialogue to make learning fun and to ensure all questions are answered in their entirety.
