About Dana
I am a Master's of Education student who has been tutoring for over 5 years for subject area specific support, homework help/study skills, and homeschool instruction. My bachelor's degree was also in education and consisted of methods of teaching and special needs courses. I have worked with a variety of different age groups ranging from elementary to high school. I am also familiar with diverse learning styles and have worked with special needs, general education, and gifted students.

My teaching methodology is student-centered, adapting to the individual needs of my students. I strive to help children discover answers through inquiry-based learning, when students develop, test, and explore their own theories to arrive at answers. This boosts retention and memory while building confidence and the skills to take control of their own learning in all subjects. In areas of particular concern, I provide direct instruction and guided practice to keep students from falling behind.
