About Jack
Education has been central to almost all of my prior work experience. I have a wide variety of education experience over the last 15 years in a number of different capacities (tutor, mentor, Resident Advisor, Teacher's Assistant, ESL teacher, classroom teacher, administrative coordinator, etc.).
Most importantly, education has always been a passion and responsibility to me. I was very fortunate growing up to have a phenomenal, comprehensive, well-rounded public school education in a supportive community that I've only ever wanted to pay it forward and empower the next generation of students to have the same positive, transformative education I was so lucky to benefit from.
Unfortunately, the educational field has only gotten more challenging and chaotic, especially in the wake of the pandemic and with all of our modern technology. Navigating our broken system and getting a quality, affordable, meaningful education by today's standards can feel intensely frustrating if not impossible.
I alone cannot fully replace your child's education, but hopefully I can pass on the fundamental gifts I was so fortunate to receive, important tools like logic, reasoning, context, historical and global perspective, critical thinking and analysis, synthesis, articulation, debate, essay writing, linguistics, vocabulary, grammar, the scientific method, ethics, civics, and so much more.

As someone with a strong passion for the Arts and Humanities, I have great appreciation for the variety of learning modalities and creating tailored instruction that is personally accessible and intuitive for each student. I want my students to be able to appreciate the value and transformative potential of a good education while having enough fun to be enthusiastically engaged.
If you are looking to increase your knowledge or understanding of history, better understand politics and how our government, economy, and media operate, improve your reading and writing skills, or simply boost your vocabulary and grammar, I can absolutely help.
I specialize at the middle school, high school, and college age level, but have experience working with students of all ages.
I am fluent in English and Spanish and have beginner proficiency in French and Mandarin as well as ESL teaching experience.
