About Shaymein
Hello, I’m Shaymein — a Lead Service Designer and former UX/Product Design leader with 25+ years of experience working across Fortune 500 companies, startups, and healthcare systems. I’ve led strategic design teams at Target, Honeywell, and HealthPartners, delivering real-world solutions that improved business efficiency and digital user experiences on a national scale. Now, I’m bringing that experience to students who want to grow their skills in human-centered design, UX research, service design, and professional business communication. Whether you’re still in high school, entering college, building your design portfolio, or refining your writing for the professional world, I’ll help you build the skills—and the confidence—to stand out. My sessions are tailored to your learning style and goals. I combine industry methods with clear, actionable teaching: whiteboarding, real case studies, interactive critiques, and writing workshops. We’ll break down complex principles like Gestalt design theory or persuasive business writing into step-by-step lessons that feel approachable and empowering. I hold a degree in Human-Centered Design and Development from Purdue and certifications in Six Sigma. I’ve mentored interns, led cross-functional teams, and guided product roadmaps used by thousands. With over 25 years of real-world experience in UX, service design, and strategic communication, I bring a practical, engaging approach to tutoring high school and college-level students in Human-Centered Design, English composition, and business communication.
As a Lead Service Designer and former Product Designer at major companies like Target, Honeywell, and HealthPartners, I’ve applied core design principles—like hierarchy, balance, and accessibility—to multimillion-dollar systems that power global operations. I now bring this same clarity, creativity, and results-driven mindset to my students.
