As a Special Education teacher, I am passionate about helping students who face challenges overcome those challenges. I know how hard it can be to struggle through something only to understand it better when it is explained differently, in a relatable and simplified manner. As a tutor, it is imperative to remember that no two learners are the same. Therefore, lessons are designed to meet students where they are, and move forward at a comfortable and predictable pace. Each lesson incorporates natural breaks and builds upon previous skills to cultivate confident students.
With a Master's Degree in Special Education, I have worked with children as young as 4 all the way through high school seniors. In a 1:1 setting, I am able to offer academic tutoring, homework help, vocabulary development, and test prep. Academic subjects include math, social studies, ELA, and science preschool through middle school as well as high school Algebra, US History, ELA, and Life Sciences. Additionally, I provide support in developing emotional regulation skills and working through challenging situations.
