About Larren
I was born in Penang, Malaysia after independence. Those days the island was a British colony. My parents used English as a mother tongue.
Growing up I learnt Malay and Hokkien, a local Chinese dialect used mainly in the straits settlements by the Peranakan community.
My education is in art and design. Then I started work and soon began teaching in college. I enjoy seeing the student progress during the semester and produce their artwork.
During lessons we can also look at pictures, videos and other media to make the English lessons entertaining. We will also have a lot of activities and games.

I focus on motivating the learner to know the strategies behind learning the language. Practice is essential to create recall in memory outside the learning environment. The lesson is typically 45 minutes with a 15 minute break, a total of 1 hour. I'm an experienced teacher with students of all ages. I teach art in a college here where I live. Teaching English is fun to me. I feel a need to help students to improve their skills to do well in their studies academically.
