About Siri

Hi, I am Siri. I'm currently living in the beautiful city of Cary, North Carolina. By day, I work as a software engineer, but my true passion lies in education. I homeschool my two wonderful daughters, aged 6 and 2, and it's through this journey that I've discovered the joy and challenges of personalized education.

Each of my daughters has her own unique learning style, and this has taught me the importance of individualized learning paths. I've spent years exploring and finding the best learning methods for them, and this experience has not only enriched my teaching approach but also sparked a desire in me to share my knowledge and methods with others.

Combining my tech background with my passion for education, I've developed a series of small apps to enhance their learning experience. I've also found that storytelling is a powerful tool in teaching, making learning more relatable and enjoyable.

I believe that learning should be a joyful journey, not a chore. If you or your child are struggling with learning, or haven't found a method that suits you, I'm here to help. About the lesson

I'm a software engineer turned educator. I hold a Master of Science degree from the Umass Amherst and am a native Chinese speaker who has been living, working, and homeschooling my children in the United States. I believe my unique blend of educational background and practical experience would greatly benefit you.

My firsthand experience with both Chinese and American cultures allows me to provide a rich, immersive learning experience. I firmly believe that language learning extends beyond mere vocabulary and grammar; it is also a deep dive into the culture, history, and everyday life of the people who speak it. To this end, I strive to incorporate elements of Chinese culture into my lessons, providing students with a holistic understanding of the language.

Moreover, my experience homeschooling my children in a bilingual environment has equipped me with effective strategies for teaching Chinese as a second language. I am well-versed in the challenges that come with learning a new language and can provide the necessary support and guidance to help students overcome these hurdles.

In conclusion, I believe that my academic qualifications, coupled with my practical teaching experience, make me a strong candidate for this position. With my guidance, students will not only learn Chinese but also gain a deeper understanding of the culture and context that underpin the language.
