I provide bespoke 1-2-1 online tuition to enable my students to learn from anywhere in the world! I would like to offer you a free consultation!
For KS2 students, I focus on SPaG, reading comprehension of fiction, non-fiction and poetry, and improving written skills with short burst writing exercises. I help students with their phonetic awareness to confidently decode unfamiliar words. I use video clips, quizzes and literacy games to create fun and interactive sessions.
I completed a 120 hour grammar course to equip me with the knowledge to teach English as a foreign language, covering past, present and future verb tenses, prepositions, conjunctions, determiners, active and passive voice. I have a thorough understanding of the structure of language and the confidence to teach grammar.
During lockdown, I taught children from the age of 6 upwards phonics, grammar, reading comprehension of the English spoken language on an interactive platform, using games, role play, songs, AR and TPR.
I have extensive experience of AQA, Edexcel and Eduqas curriculums for GCSE and Advanced level studies. I teach Ofqual’s Assessment Objectives: how to respond to texts, analyse their language, form and structure, consider the relationship between texts and contexts, and to use a wide range of vocabulary and sentence structures. Also, I help my students to understand set texts: prose, plays and poetry, and to improve their transactional and creative writing skills.
I have extensive experience of the AQA curriculum for Advanced level studies. I have taught Top Girls, Handmaid's Tale, Streetcar Named Desire, Frankenstein, the crime anthology and the poetry of Oscar Wilde, John Donne and Robert Browning. I teach Ofqual’s Assessment Objectives: how to respond to texts, analyse their language, form and structure, consider the relationship between texts and contexts. Also, I help my students to understand critical theory and have access to JSTOR for critics' journals, which adds interest to the NEA component of the course.
I provide bespoke teaching sessions to suit students’ individual needs. I support my students through their studies to improve their confidence to answer essay and exam questions. I help students with comprehension by teaching them textual analysis to improve their interpretative skills and offer a lot of past paper practice. As well as sharing my extensive academic knowledge, I am patient with my students', who respond well to my approach and excel under my tutelage.
