I am a master's student at the University of British Columbia studying applied mathematics after completing my bachelor's in chemical engineering.
I have 2 years of experience teaching first year calculus and linear algebra courses at UBC as well as 4 years experience tutoring high school math, chemistry, and physics.

I use my professional training as a math teaching assistant to guide my tutoring. A typical class would entail working through practice problems the student has from his/her courses. I use a Socratic teaching method to help students arrive at the correct answer on their own rather than doing the work for them.
Students may find this teaching style more challenging, but the lessons they learn will stick with them and improve their understanding much more than conventional teaching!
