About Aidan

I am currently a master's student with years of education at the university level. I have been tutoring my peers for years and have been a TA for several undergraduate courses for the past two years. I have also supply taught at the high school level on several occasions. I find that I have a fairly simple approach to my tutoring and in my explanation of mathematical concepts. I think that this is important because it gives the students a comfortable and stress-free environment where they can learn.

About the lesson

My usual approach is to first get an understanding of the student's current level of knowledge and identify key gaps that need to be filled. Then I will look at more specific areas that they are having trouble with in their area of study (certain chapters, questions, etc.). I will have the students work through some problems on their own so I can see where they get stuck. I will then help them through the rest of the problem, providing tips and tricks for them to use when they encounter similar problems in the future. I find that the best way to help people understand math better is to put things into simple terms that people can understand, unlike the overcomplicated terminology of most textbooks. I also find that walking students through every step of a problem is not the best way for them to learn. It is important for them to make some mistakes and be able to learn from them. My lessons are usually for anyone at the high school to university level.
