About Maya
Hey, I'm Maryam and I've always wanted to be a tutor. Whilst I'm still in college, this feels like a deeply meaningful choice for me. It’s not just about helping others academically; it’s also about personal growth and connection. I remember the struggles I faced juggling classes, assignments, and all the pressures that come with school and college life. Knowing that I can support individuals who are going through similar challenges feels rewarding.
Tutoring allows me to share what I’ve learned and, at the same time, it reinforces my own understanding of the material. When I explain concepts to someone else, it forces me to think critically and communicate clearly. This back-and-forth isn’t just about teaching; it enriches my own learning, giving me new perspectives on the subject I’m passionate about.
I think a big part of my motivation comes from a desire to empower others. I’ve had my share of mentors and teachers who profoundly impacted my life, and I want to be that kind of support for someone else. Education really can transform an individual, and if I can play even a small role in that journey, it’s fulfilling. Each Indivudual I help has their own potential to make a difference, and I see tutoring as a way to contribute to a positive ripple effect in our community. Education isn’t just an individual pursuit; it really is a shared experience, and I want to be a part of that.
At the end of the day, my desire to tutor reflects my values: compassion, leadership, and a genuine love for learning. Being a tutor is about building connections and creating a sense of belonging, both for myself and for those I work with. As I grow in this role, I not only navigate my own journey more effectively but also help others find their way. It’s about leaving a mark on their lives while enriching my own college experience with purpose and meaning.
