Hi there, I'm Elliot

My passion is languages as they open a world of new experiences and different cultures!

I am new to this site but have been tutoring Spanish for the past 8 years and I am a qualified Cambridge EFL teacher.

During that time I have witnessed that each person has a different learning style. It has shown me that bespoke lessons are the key to developing interest and results.

Instead of an approach working through endless textbook exercises alone, by paying attention to personal learning and providing support, anyone is able to do what they once thought as impossible!

Remember it's all about enjoying the journey and seeing your achievements.

I look to tailor lessons around you and have delivered private Spanish and English lessons to students from KS2-KS4 (including those preparing for their GSCEs and A-Levels) through to adults (18+).

I have also taught English for those learning for business purposes taking advantage of my previous experience (see below).

Recently, I have been volunteering at a primary school and a local homework club in London, working with young students in the community to help to inspire and learn together.

My typical classes:
- General Spanish and English Lessons (Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced)
- Conversational Spanish and English
- A-Level and GCSE Spanish
- English for Business Purposes

I offer one-to-one or group lessons in-person or online via Skype/Zoom.

-----------------------------------About Me and My Experience:--------------------------------

I am of mixed British and Spanish parentage, which has helped me understand the difficulties when learning a new language and the benefits of an immersive environment.

I have spent time in Spain over the years working and studying and have had the opportunity to tutor English there as well, which has helped me notice common obstacles when learning both, meaning you won't have to go through the struggles yourself!

I have worked with Pearson Education in their modern languages department as part of the Editorial team. I organised and proof-read Spanish educational material in listening, reading and writing, where the material was used in GCSE textbooks and teachers' guides for both AQA and Edexcel exam boards.

Prior to teaching full-time, I worked within sales and marketing, most recently for a Fintech company, negotiating and providing finance. Previously I also translated for and advised developing start-ups and led multi-platform marketing campaigns. By having had a career outside of education I am able to provide diverse experience and real-life application.

It is important to have a love for what you do and most importantly my enjoyment comes from the most rewarding experience that is education itself.

Prizes and Scholarships :
In 2016 I received a Social Entrepreneurship Award from Oxford Brookes University and Santander UK for a charity focused start-up project
