About Trisha
Hi! I’m Trisha, a Psychology student at Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Bengaluru.
I’ve always really enjoyed being around children and helping them learn. I previously got the chance to teach children basic computer skills, and honestly, that experience is what made me realize how much I enjoy teaching. I loved seeing a child go from “I don’t know how to do this” to confidently doing it on their own.
I’m a very patient person when it comes to teaching, and I genuinely don’t mind explaining something more than once. I know that every child learns differently as some understand something immediately, while others just need a little more time, a different example or someone to encourage them along the way.
Being a Psychology student has also made me really interested in how children learn, communicate and develop confidence. I try to keep that in mind while teaching, because I want my students to feel comfortable with me rather than feel like they are being judged whenever they make a mistake.
I’m friendly, approachable and a little playful when the situation allows it, because I believe learning doesn't always have to be serious or stressful. At the same time, I take my classes and my students' progress seriously and will always put in the effort to make sure they are actually understanding what we are learning.
My biggest goal is to make a child feel more confident than they did before the class, whether that's because they finally understood a grammar rule, read something without hesitation, wrote something they were proud of, or simply felt more comfortable speaking in English.
I’m really looking forward to meeting my students, getting to know how they learn best and hopefully making English a subject they feel a little more excited about.

I believe learning becomes much easier when a child feels comfortable enough to ask questions, make mistakes and try again. That is the kind of environment I want to create in my classes.
I have previous experience teaching children basic computer skills, and one thing I really enjoyed was finding different ways to explain something when a child didn't understand it the first time. I bring the same patience and flexibility into my English classes. I don't believe in a “one method fits everyone” approach because every child learns differently.
What can you expect from my classes?
I usually start with a quick conversation or revision to see how the student is doing and what they remember from the previous class. Then we move into the day's topic, where I explain the concept in a simple and relatable way before giving the student plenty of opportunities to practice it themselves.
Depending on what the student needs, a class might include:
* Grammar and sentence formation
* Reading and comprehension
* Vocabulary and spelling
* Writing practice
* Speaking and everyday communication
* Schoolwork and homework support
* Revision and preparation for tests
I like using examples from everyday life, conversations and little activities rather than making the student simply memorize rules. If something doesn't make sense, I am completely happy to explain it again or explain it in a completely different way until it clicks. I enjoy making them play games to create more interest.
My teaching style
I am friendly, patient and encouraging, and I want my students to feel that they can ask me anything without being embarrassed about getting an answer wrong.
I also want children to become comfortable using English, not just studying it for an exam. Whether that means helping a shy student speak a little more confidently, making grammar less confusing, or helping a student finally understand something they've been struggling with, we take it one step at a time.
I will always try to make the class something the student can actually look forward to rather than another stressful hour of studying.
My classes are mainly for school children who need extra support with English or simply want to become better and more confident at reading, writing, speaking and understanding the language.
Most importantly, I want every student to leave a class feeling a little more confident than when they came in and hopefully thinking, “Wait, English is actually not that scary." :)
