About Lumie
Hi! I was born and raised in France and just finished high school there with the English International Baccalaureate Option. As I am moving to England for my studies, being able to share my knowledge and love and exchanging in French would be a great pleasure. I already did mentoring back in France - for two years, teaching English to franco-japanese siblings (5 and 8 years old). I was even congratulated by the parents as the little brother passed the entry test for the international primary school in Strasbourg and the older sister showed progress, especially in oral expression. It was a very enriching experience for me as I have always been very sensitive to children's education. Helping the next generations develop on an international level means a lot to me.
I also love to do arts and crafts, to play music (whether it's piano or guitar), singing and always like a good swim.
Whether you are looking for a tutor for your children or for yourself, I will adapt myself and my 'course' to your goals. As I have followed French education, I have also read a few classic French literature books which we can always discuss or use as a course basis!

With children, I base my teaching on books, on their toys, on anything surrounding us, anything going on outside the window. I believe they need to observe things in order to memorise new words. Using colors, mimics and drawings is also a methodology I believe will accelerate their memory; getting them involved in the conversation is always a plus. When children don't feel like it is only about learning, they will be enthusiastic about anything!!
When it comes to older people, whether they are teenagers or adults, I actually don't change the methodology that much. It is only less of a drawing methodology, but I always make sure they can memorise things faster. I would for example make up a short story for them to visualise the lesson!
