About Tonia
I am a Registered Nurse and Unit Manager on a rehabilitation unit in a long-term care facility. I currently oversee daily operations on the unit, support clinical staff, and help ensure residents receive safe, high-quality, and compassionate care throughout their recovery and long-term stays.
My nursing journey began as a CNA, where I worked for 6 years and built a strong foundation in hands-on patient care. I then advanced to LPN, where I spent 9 years gaining extensive experience in long-term care, developing skills in time management, clinical judgment, and patient-centered care. I am now an RN and unit manager, where I combine my clinical background and leadership experience to support both patients and staff in a fast-paced rehab/LTC setting.
Having worked through every level of nursing, I understand the challenges of each stage—from starting out as a CNA, to growing as an LPN, to transitioning into RN practice and leadership. My goal is to help CNA and nursing students, as well as new nurses, bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice so they can feel confident, capable, and prepared in their careers.
