About Kenya
I am a postgraduate student at the London School of Economics (LSE), completing an MSc in Development Studies (Applied Development Economics), having previously graduated from LSE with a degree in International Relations and Chinese. History and the study of political systems, power, and global change sit at the heart of my academic background — from the history of empire and decolonisation to the political economy of the modern world, these are subjects I have engaged with seriously throughout my education.
Prior to returning to LSE, I spent two years working in financial services in London, where I developed strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills. That professional experience sharpened my ability to break down complex information and present arguments clearly and precisely — skills I bring directly into helping students write better History essays.
I want to tutor History because I know how transformative it is when a student stops memorising facts and starts thinking like a historian, when essays stop feeling like a recitation of events and start feeling like a genuine argument. I want to help my students reach that point, because that is when History becomes not just manageable, but genuinely exciting. I am patient, well-prepared, and committed to every student I work with.

I offer History tutoring for students at GCSE, A-Level, and IB level. My lessons are tailored to the individual student's needs, learning pace, and specific exam board or IB requirements — whether that is AQA, Edexcel, OCR, or the IB Diploma Programme.
My lessons are designed for students aged 11–18 working towards GCSE, A-Level, or IB History. Whether you are looking to improve your essay writing, get to grips with source and historiography analysis, strengthen your factual knowledge, or sharpen your exam technique, sessions are built around your specific syllabus, topics, and current level.
I believe the best tutoring goes beyond drilling past papers. I begin by identifying the specific gaps holding a student back — whether that is essay structure, source evaluation, use of historical evidence, or time management in the exam — and build a structured plan to address them directly.
For GCSE students, I also work on the shorter source-based questions that carry significant marks but are often underprepared.
At A-Level and IB, I help students develop the kind of conceptual sophistication that examiners reward — moving beyond "what happened" to "why it matters, what it reveals, and what historians have argued about it."
Sessions typically run for 60 minutes, though 90-minute sessions are available for students who prefer a longer, more intensive format. Each lesson begins with a short review of the previous session, moves into focused work on the target area, and closes with a practice task to consolidate learning. I provide written feedback and resources after each session, so progress continues between lessons.
