About Ruby

As the first person in my family to attend a selective university and now on the path to becoming a first-generation lawyer, I understand how overwhelming the admissions process can feel when you’re trying to navigate it with little support. That experience has made me passionate about widening access to legal education and helping other aspiring law students achieve their goals.

When preparing for the LNAT myself, I was surprised to find textbooks costing £30 or more and tutoring often beginning at £70 per hour. I believe high-quality guidance shouldn’t be inaccessible because of cost, which is why I aim to provide affordable, personalised support without compromising on quality.

I love teaching and sharing what I’ve learned. My own journey began with a score in the low 20s on my first LNAT practice test, before improving to 33 after a month of focused preparation. Having experienced that progression myself, I understand how to recognise precisely what is holding students back and I can explain concepts in a practical, encouraging way that builds both confidence and results.

Alongside my LNAT preparation, I have developed strong communication skills through customer-facing roles in hospitality, working with people from a wide range of backgrounds. I also spent a year tutoring GCSE History, where I understood the importance of adapting my teaching style to each individual student. My aim is not only to help students achieve a competitive LNAT score and submit a strong university application, but also to ensure they leave each lesson feeling more confident in their own ability and to encourage them throughout the whole process.

About the lesson

My approach to LNAT tutoring:
I tailor every lesson to each individual. Whether you’re struggling with the multiple-choice section, the essay, or both, we’ll focus on the areas that will have the greatest impact on your score.

For the LNAT multiple-choice section:
* I cover every question type individually, pointing out and explaining the most difficult LNAT traps that prevent the majority from accessing a competitive score of 27+.
* We will work through passages that gradually increase in difficulty, allowing you to build confidence and master the necessary skills.

For the essay section:
* I have a large bank of past and realistic LNAT essay questions.
* We will discuss ideas together, plan responses, and you can complete essays independently for detailed feedback.
* I provide high-scoring model answers to each question and show you how to develop balanced, analytical arguments under immense time pressure.

Every student who books lessons also receives free access to my LNAT workbook, which has already been purchased by numerous aspiring law applicants. This provides structured practice between lessons and reinforces everything we cover together.

Personal statement mentoring:
Alongside LNAT preparation, I also offer personal statement mentoring for students applying to study Law at competitive universities.

* I help students build an impressive application by showing them high-quality books, articles, lectures, competitions, work experience opportunities and other super-curricular activities that universities value.
* I will help you develop your own ideas and reflect on your experiences in a thoughtful and authentic way that earns you an offer.
* I can also proofread and refine existing personal statements, improve structure and wording, and help your enthusiasm for law come across naturally without sounding forced or generic.

Every student who books lessons also receives my own successful personal statement, which allowed me to receive an offer from LSE in their first round of offers.

Lesson information:
Lessons are available in 40-minute or 60-minute sessions, with longer intensive sessions available if required. The ideal lesson length depends on your goals and schedule, so I’m happy to find out what works best for you and tailor this together.

My lessons are suitable for students preparing for the LNAT and applying to study Law at university, whether you’re just beginning your preparation or looking to maximise your score before the exam.
