About Elodie
I'm Elodie, a soon-to-be graduate from LSE studying International History! Alongside my degree, I have been both a Captain and Vice President for my university football team, and currently work as an Outreach Co-Ordinator, Wellbeing Officer, and Mentor at a university admissions tutoring charity called StateElevate.
I am an aspiring investigative journalist with a place on City's MA Investigative Journalism course: my work so far has featured on BBC and ITV, and I will be undertaking an internship at The Guardian this summer.
My drive to help disadvantaged students access elite universities and careers overlaps with my love for teaching, as both offer young people the hope and confidence they need to reach their full potential. Education is a passion of mine, and I have produced various written and video news features focusing on educational disparity. Through my work with StateElevate, I offer university application mentoring to students from the North East. With the organisation, I have most recently launched 'Past the Postcode', an educational video interview series connecting students with state-educated professionals at the peak of their careers.
As well as this, I love teaching in all forms! Aside from formal tutoring, I have informally taken part in both equestrian and football coaching over the years, helping people of all ages from as young as 6 years old to adults.

I offer in-depth, holistic help to students of all levels of ability and confidence. My sessions range from 30-60 minutes based on the student's needs and financial circumstances, and can cover all aspects of a History GCSE/A-Level/Degree. This includes the curriculum, essay writing skills and in-depth feedback, revision techniques, and, where relevant, personal statement help and interview practice. All of these elements of a session are tailored to the student's needs and goals.
Experience:
I have over 2 years’ experience of tutoring across academia, language, and university admissions, for a range of people of many ages and ability/confidence levels. These experiences developed my ability to foster students’ confidence, simplify difficult concepts, and ultimately deliver tangible results.
I have tutored History to a struggling Year 12 student who was averaging a C-D Grade. The 60-minute sessions covered the curriculum, revision techniques, and in-depth essay skills and marking. Ultimately, they achieved an A in History and gained a place at King's College London studying History and Politics.
I also recently tutored on Ringle, a platform which offers English tutoring to Korean professionals. Through this, I delivered structured spoken language lessons focusing on paraphrasing students' responses and giving feedback based on the students' English aspirations. I consistently achieved a 5* rating, with reviews often commenting on my friendliness, enthusiasm for teaching, and adaptability according to students' needs.
I currently work as a mentor offering free university admissions mentoring to students from the North East. Through my mentoring, I work with humanities students applying to top universities through all stages of their application process, including their personal statement and (where applicable) offering mock interviews. This has developed my ability to work with students low on confidence and initial knowledge, building upon a very sparse foundation. I worked with three students who achieved places at Oxford, Durham and LSE.
