About Isela

Hi! I’m Isela, a senior at Education World Wide, and I’m passionate about helping kids learn in a way that feels fun, supportive, and personalized. I speak both English and Spanish, and I’m on the path to becoming an Early Education and Special Education teacher. I’ve been tutoring children ages 3 to 12 for over 5 years, and in the last 2 years, I’ve also worked with teens ages 14 to 16. I love making learning feel exciting, whether we’re tackling a tricky history topic or building better study habits together. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing the piano, painting, and baking — creativity is a big part of how I connect with my students. My goal is always to create a calm, encouraging space where students feel safe to ask questions and grow at their own pace.

About the lesson

Hi! I’m a passionate history student who loves turning boring facts into exciting stories. I help younger students understand history in a way that sticks — no more just memorizing dates! I believe that history is best learned through stories, questions, and connections. I explain historical events like a timeline of real-life drama — full of characters, decisions, and consequences. I also use tools like: - Visual presentations - Flash cards that the students can keep afterwards -And discussions, as I allow the student to participate in the learning trip For a meeting, I will need the topic that the student wants to learn 3 days before the meeting, so I can prepare a fun lesson! What sets me apart as a tutor? - I’m not here to lecture — I’m here to make history feel alive and useful. -As a student myself, I recall what it’s like to be confused or bored by a textbook. - I tailor each session to your specific needs — whether it's tests, homework, or simply curiosity. These lessons are designed for middle schoolers and early high school students who are preparing for quizzes, need help with homework, or want to learn something new.
