About Sophia
Hi there!
My name is Sophia and I struggled to write academic papers for almost the entirety of middle and high school because I thought I was a "bad writer." College has taught me that what I believed was completely untrue! Writing papers is all about communicating our thoughts in ways that are slightly more structured and well-versed than conversation. So, if you struggle to believe in your writing, I'm here to assure you that you are absolutely NOT innately less than those who writing comes easily to - you just have to think about it in a different way.

Sessions with me include styles of conversation, editing, and encouragement for all learning styles, in order to create a safe space to make mistakes and learn from them.
The three most important things to me in learning about essay writing are:
1. Your confidence in your thinking style.
2. How to draft and edit in a productive and not destructive way.
3. How to think critically about prompts and answer them precisely and concisely.
I can meet with you weekly, or on an assignment-due-date basis. I am currently working as a part-time teacher, so let's communicate about our schedules.
