About Makeda
My name is Makeda Yonas, and I'm excited to be your tutor. I'm 16 years old, and while that might seem young, I believe my fresh perspective can help you learn in ways that connect to what you're going through right now as a student. I’ve recently been where you are now — learning and mastering subjects — and I want to share what I’ve learned to help you succeed.
The reason I want to tutor is that I understand the challenges that can come with school. Sometimes, things don’t click right away, and having someone who’s close in age can make things feel less intimidating and more relatable. I’m passionate about subjects like English literature and history which is why, along with two other subjects i am studying them at a level, I want to help make learning enjoyable and less stressful for you. Whether it's breaking down tough concepts or helping you prepare for exams, i'm here to support you and help you grow.

Lessons ideal for high aspiring GCSE students, but can transform grades at all levels. Ideally teach English language and literature, combined science as well as history (depending on exam board and spec). I achieved an average grade of 8.5 and currently study at one of the most competitive sixth forms. My effective teaching methods include, active recall with student, the pause procedure, regular GCSE style assessments marked by me. Typical length of lesson would be around an hour/ two hours.
