As a Logic teacher, I combine clarity, engagement, and rigor to guide students through the principles of critical thinking and structured reasoning. My teaching style is student-centered, focusing on building understanding through real-life analogies, interactive questioning, and gradual abstraction. I emphasize not just theoretical knowledge, but also the practical application of logic in argumentation, decision-making, and academic writing.
Teaching Techniques & Methods
I use a variety of teaching methods, including:
Socratic questioning to stimulate deep thinking
Visual aids such as Venn diagrams and truth tables
Collaborative problem-solving activities
Digital tools (interactive quizzes, logic puzzles, etc.)
Step-by-step modeling followed by guided practice
Sample Lesson Plan (Introduction to Deductive Reasoning)
Objective: Students will distinguish between valid and invalid arguments.
Warm-up (5 mins): A simple riddle or logical puzzle to activate prior thinking.
Concept Introduction (15 mins): Define deductive reasoning, show examples, use truth tables.
Guided Practice (20 mins): Analyze arguments as a class and discuss their validity.
Group Activity (15 mins): Students work in pairs to identify fallacies or strengthen weak arguments.
Wrap-up (5 mins): Reflect on how logic applies to real-life discussions and debates.
Homework: Analyze an argument from a news article.
What Sets Me Apart
What makes me unique is my ability to adapt logic instruction to a variety of student levels, my use of cross-disciplinary connections (e.g., linking logic to mathematics, language, and computer science), and my attention to students' cognitive development. I aim to make logic both enjoyable and empowering.
Target Learners
My lessons are tailored for:
Grades: High school students (grades 10–12) and early university level
Levels: Beginner to intermediate in logic or philosophy
Class types: Regular school courses, enrichment classes, or private tutoring
Special Needs: I provide adapted content and pacing for gifted students, ESL learners, and students with learning differences.
