About William
I am a local musician in the Detroit and greater metropolitan area with over 30 years experience playing and making music. I began playing piano and woodwinds during gradeschool and by high school switched to drums, which is I feel my native or innately understood instrument. I was a natural always annoying friends and family with my hand taps, rolls and even beat boxing. It wasn’t long after my folks bought me drums no I began playing in bands that music became this huge world demanding my attention, heart, mind and soul. I self taught myself bass, then six string guitar and I feel confident that if I can do these kinds of things so can you. I believe everyone, all of us, are connected to musical output skills and we only need to put in the time, commit to learning new skills and practice, practice practice to achieve playing music and especially the guitar.

Learning guitar can seem complicating and or next to impossible. But, with my tutelage, you can learn guitar in small, easy steps which build upon each other and enable you to gain the knowledge to successfully play the instrument with some proficiency. Practice on the students part is required and must be done with regularity. Times are tailored to an individuals budget, desire and based on whether you are a beginner or advanced level learner. Typically, a lesson will focus on one aspect of the subject, such as learning first position chords, using chords and scales or improvisational skills, continue through a set of techniques and escalate as a student exemplifies proficiency and mastery of a lesson or concept. While music theory is not taught, basic schemes for song writing and composition are discussed.
