About Chris

I’m a university-based academic skills specialist with over 16 years’ experience supporting students across a range of disciplines. I currently work at the University of Liverpool and have previously worked at several universities across the North West of England. I’ve supported undergraduate and postgraduate students from a wide variety of academic and cultural backgrounds. My experience includes working on degree programmes in: • Linguistics and Languages • Speech and Language Therapy • English Literature and Academic Writing • Business, Marketing and Management • Finance and Economics My areas of expertise include: • Essay planning and academic writing • Critical thinking and argumentation • Presentation skills and public speaking • Time management and study strategies Whether you’re preparing for university, working on your dissertation, or simply want to improve your academic performance, I can help you feel more confident and capable in your studies.

About the lesson

I offer one to one online tutoring support and tailor the sessions to your individual needs. I have 16 years university teaching experience and have designed multiple modules and learning frameworksto cater for students with varying needs. I have worked with international students, local students, neurodivergent students and students with SpLD needs.

In our first session, we will discuss what you need support with and devise a plan to work through the issue. Then each subsequent session will have an agenda and goal attached to it so you will be able to evidence your progress.
