About Megan

I am a Linguistics and Literature student with a Master's TEFL certification. I have over 4 years of experience as a teacher during which I have helped students pass major exams such as the TEFL/TOEFL exams and fully acquire the language. My skills involve building conversation skills, test preparation, and career advancement. I focus on creating an ideal environment for students to feel comfortable and start making progress immediately.

About the lesson

TEFL-Certified English Teacher | Business English | Conversational English | Beginner's English Hi! I'm Megan and I am from the southernmost point of Texas. I have professionally worked as a teacher for more than 4 years. During that time, I have worked with students of all ages and levels. I have helped complete beginners take their first steps as I have also helped advanced speakers or even natives refine their speaking and writing skills. I am extremely passionate about languages and even more passionate about teaching. As a language learner myself, I know all about the ups and downs of learning a new language. My goal as a teacher is to go through all the difficulties together with my students so that I can watch them grow and become more confident in their newly acquired skills. I use many different resources depending on the goal. I always have my students speak and listen as much as possible so they can immerse themselves in the language from the start. I will always make sure that students feel safe and comfortable enough to make mistakes so that they can keep on learning. I also like to keep my students' interests in mind. I myself have a background in music and technology. If you are a musician or into computers, we can definitely talk about those topics. If you are into something else, we can also definitely talk about that as I also love to hear about what my students are interested in. When I am not teaching or studying, I really enjoy watching anime, playing video games, reading, or impulsively learning another language I should not be focusing on. I am also a native speaker of Spanish, conversational in Italian, and have limited proficiency in Japanese. I really look forward to meeting you! I am here to support you through any challenges you face throughout your English learning journey.
